"Nahum resists the idea that space is ours to conquer. He argues that artists must be included in the conversation about how we explore space or else humanity" —BBC

"Nahum is a truly visionary artist who is developing new views on how we should approach our planet and the universe we inhabit" —VICE

"Nahum has managed to transcend the art scene and bring his work into dialogue with the most respected scientific voices on the planet" —El País

"While Nahum’s investigations actively engage with the cosmos, his work also suggests a more down-to-earth and self-conscious undertone to humanity’s quest to conquer the unknown: understanding ourselves and where we come from" —Hyperallergic

"Nahum is the new generation of artists creating new imaginaries that will infect the ideas of tomorrow" —Roger Malina

Experience
Nahum has organised zero gravity flights at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre, where he invited a group of artists to create a series of artworks in weightlessness. He also collaborated with the European Space Agency and SpaceX to launch the first interactive artwork in space, which was installed on the International Space Station by Astronaut Alexander Gerst.

In 2011, Nahum founded the KOSMICA Institute, which aims to establish a platform for critical, cultural, and poetic discussions about our relationship with the Universe, space activities, and their impact on Earth. KOSMICA creates initiatives that connect the arts and humanities, the space industry, and the wider community.

Nahum is a faculty member at the International Space University. He has given lectures at prestigious universities such as Boston University, Central Saint Martins, Tec de Monterrey, the Academy of Arts and Design in Karlsruhe, and the University of the Underground. Some of his written works have been published by Penguin Books and Bloomsbury Press.

Nahum is a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network and serves on the board of SpaceEU, an initiative that advocates for a more inclusive space community in Europe. He served as chairman of the Committee for the Cultural Utilisation of Space (ITACCUS) at the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) in Paris. Nahum was the first artist to receive the Young Space Leader Award in 2014 and the Karman Fellowship in 2021 for his exceptional cultural contributions to astronautics and space exploration.
